Royal Crown Derby Kangaroo and Joey. Please contact me via my listing if there's anything you'd like to discuss. The kangaroo is a marsupial, meaning it cares for its young in a belly pouch. This superb piece perfectly encapsulates the deep spiritual and mystical significance of the kangaroo in Aboriginal culture. The Kangaroo is decorated with 27 and 9 blue spades.
Spades represent the Air element enhancing clarity and consciousness of the mind, hence the kangaroo featuring in much of the Aboriginal dream culture. The numbers 9 and 27 represent you're on the right spiritual path and both are significant for being the only positive whole number that is exactly three times the sum of its digits (2+7 = 9 and 9×3 = 27). Rich shade of red with pink, caramel, brown, shades of blue, and lavishly gilded with 22-carat gold. The base has various grasses being the preferred food of kangaroos. The kangaroo is indigenous to Australia, Tasmania, and New Guinea. The piece is 5½ high and quite heavy. Part of the Royal Crown Derby Australian Collection with the special gold stamp only placed upon pieces created between 1999 and 2000. Modelled and decorated by John Ablitt.
