Royal Crown Derby Hippopotamus Paperweight Gold Signature Limited Edition, Gold Stopper, Original Box and Certificate, Never Displayed. I have for sale the Royal Crown Derby Hippopotamus Paperweight Gold Signature Limited Edition, limited to 2500, this is number 1644, by John Ablit. The Hippo is one of the largest paperweights and it is heavily decorated in the classic Royal Crown Derby colours of gold, cobalt blue, red and white. The photos don't do it justice, it really is an impressive piece. It could easily be the feature piece in any collection. This has NEVER been displayed and is in "as New" condition. All Royal Crown Derby paperweights are hand finished with 24 carrot gold, making each one unique.
